Frequently Asked Questions:

How does the remodel process work?

At Cardinal Contracting we do primarily small to medium sized bid jobs. The bid process starts with a free initial consultation where we discuss your project goals, budget, and timeline either via phone or email. We’ll then visit your home to assess the space, take measurements, and discuss material preferences. After gathering all necessary details, we provide a written estimate outlining the scope of work, materials, labor, and the total project cost. If you decide to hire us for your project we then finalize the contract, create a project timeline that works for you, and begin working on your project.

How long does a typical remodeling project take?

The timeline for a remodeling project depends on the size of the project, our current scheduled work, and the timeline that works best for you. We give every project our full attention and care which means we are often able to finish projects in days or weeks rather than months. When you choose Cardinal Contracting there is no need to worry about long delays or going days or weeks without hearing back from us. We pride ourselves on our clear communication, affordability, and reliable quality craftmanship.

Do I need a permit for my project?

Many project do not require permits. But if a projects requires significant plumbing, electrical, or structural changes, it may be required to obtain building permits in order to comply with Montana state law and city building codes. If this is the case for your project we will handle the permit pulling process and will work with city officials, licensed plumbers, and licensed electricians when necessary.

How much will my remodeling project cost?

The cost for a project varies depending on the size of the project, cost of material, and amount of labor involved in the project. After discussing your vision and needs, we’ll provide an estimate with a breakdown of costs. We strive to stay within your budget while delivering the quality we know your home deserves.
